OpenAI Offers Pro Users a Choice: Restore 5-Hour Limit or Double Weekly Quota

According to Beating AI news, Thibault Sottiaux, the product and operations manager at OpenAI, has initiated a vote to gather Pro users' opinions on the usage limits for Codex and ChatGPT. The two options are: restore the usage limit every 5 hours but double the total weekly quota; or continue to remove the 5-hour limit while maintaining the current weekly quota. On September 29, Tibo had promised not to reintroduce the 5-hour limit. However, it is now presented as an option in exchange for a doubled weekly quota. This is still a consultation for opinions, and OpenAI has not yet announced any formal adjustments to the quota rules.
