On September 28, BeInCrypto reported that Musk retweeted a post by X user Dr. Singularity, commenting 'accurate.' The post predicts that major U.S. labs will achieve Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) by 2027, claiming that Claude Opus 5.5 is close to AGI and that Google and OpenAI will follow suit. The post received approximately 1.8 million views. However, prediction markets are skeptical: Kalshi gives OpenAI a 44.3% chance of announcing AGI before 2028, while Polymarket assigns only an 18% probability and Kalshi 14.8% for before 2027. At the same time, GPT-6 Astra is released, and Jensen Huang claims AGI is imminent, but LeCun questions whether self-regressive LLMs can achieve human-level intelligence.
