On October 15, Morgan Stanley CEO Ted Pick stated on Wednesday that he expects the development of artificial intelligence to face bottlenecks and phases of overbuilding, but investment will continue on a large scale in the coming years. Pick also mentioned that the bank's role is to regulate the pace of AI capital expenditures—slowing down when the market advances too quickly and accelerating investments when necessary. He said, "These investment scales are extremely large; the growth of the U.S. economy and even the global economy is, to some extent, driven by this AI capital expenditure cycle." Pick added that he expects annual spending in the AI sector to remain around "$1 trillion" over the next 5 to 10 years. JPMorgan CFO Jeremy Barnum also stated on Tuesday that as the demand for capital expenditures driven by AI infrastructure continues to grow, JPMorgan is closely monitoring its risk exposure in the AI field.
