Jakub Rusiecki, founder of Social Graph Ventures, announced on X that he has joined Colosseum as Principal. He mentioned that he first met Clay Robbins in January 2024, during the launch of Colosseum and its initial fundraise. Rusiecki stated that he has been following Clay Robbins, Matty Tay, and Nate Levine from the beginning and has continuously observed the team's efforts to transform the Solana hackathon into a company incubation pipeline. Over the past year, both parties have shown interest in the same early-stage projects and have aligned in their early investment judgments. Rusiecki also noted that most crypto venture capital is currently flowing into later rounds, while the next wave of companies often starts with two-person teams and hackathon projects, typically earlier than the investment timelines of traditional funds. Colosseum attracts developers through hackathons, supports founders from the idea stage with accelerators, and continues to back breakthrough projects and other companies through its fund. He will review hackathon submissions and plans to attend the London Breakpoint.
