On September 28, following the actions of Chinese cross-border brokers such as Futu, Tiger Brokers, Changqiao, and Huasheng Securities, some Chinese brokers in Hong Kong have also started to clean up their existing operations in mainland China. To comply with relevant regulatory requirements, Guotai Junan International has made partial adjustments to the services available for accounts of existing mainland investors starting from the 26th of this month. According to customer service representatives from Guotai Junan International, these adjustments are similar to those made by Futu Holdings and Tiger International, meaning that when existing mainland investor accounts log in from mainland China (with the login IP showing as mainland China), they will be unable to deposit funds or make purchases, and can only transfer funds out or sell. If the account is accessed from outside China, the account's fund transfer and trading functions remain unaffected. If customers obtain new identification, they must update their corresponding new document information, at which point they will not be subject to these restrictions as holders of overseas documents.
