During Chinese President Xi Jinping's state visit to the United States, the two countries reached an eight-point consensus. Both sides agreed to build a strategic stability relationship based on respect, fairness, and equality, and to support each other in hosting the APEC and G20 meetings. The leaders agreed on Iran's commitment to not develop nuclear weapons and acknowledged the positive role of the China-U.S. economic and trade consultation mechanism, reaching a $30 billion reciprocal tariff reduction arrangement. Both sides also agreed to establish a dialogue and communication channel on artificial intelligence.
