The Brazilian Central Bank has partnered with Hypernative to develop a cryptocurrency threat alert system, providing support for attack identification, response, and fund tracking for banks and cryptocurrency exchanges. In July 2025, cybercriminals exploited a vulnerability in C&M software to steal $180 million, prompting the Brazilian Central Bank to expedite the system's development. According to Bitcoin.com News, ABToken Executive Director Regina Pedroso stated that the system will be integrated within the next two weeks, with Foxbit and Mercado Bitcoin participating in its implementation. Additionally, Brazil will implement 24-hour preventive holds on cryptocurrency transfers exceeding $10,000 either per transaction or cumulatively within a single day.
