On September 30, according to U.Today citing Galaxy Research, a Bitcoin wallet that has been dormant since May 2011 showed activity on September 29, transferring a total of 20.43 BTC (worth about $1.7 million) in two transactions. Galaxy estimates that the cost basis for the wallet was only about $3–4 per BTC, resulting in a total profit of approximately $1.724 million from these ancient coins (with the first batch of 10.33 BTC yielding a return of about 2,192,700%). Galaxy did not disclose the identities of the sender or receiver.
