On April 27, it was reported that Doug Safreno, co-founder and CEO of AI evaluation and observability tool company Gentrace, announced on X that he has joined Anthropic. Gentrace helped businesses test and monitor the quality of LLM outputs and had raised $8 million in Series A funding led by Matrix (with a total funding of $14 million) before shutting down at the end of last year. Safreno stated that co-founder and CTO Vivek Nair had already joined Anthropic, and Nair, along with his friend Yongxing Deng at Anthropic, persuaded him to follow suit, citing Anthropic's speed and values.
