Datamall Coin: Empowering Decentralized Data Storage and Transactions

Validated Venture

Datamall Chain is a public blockchain with emphasis on decentralized data storage and transaction solutions. At the core of its ecosystem is a marketplace driven by the Nash Consensus, which rewards participants for their contributions in maintaining the network’s supply and demand dynamics. To facilitate transactions within the ecosystem, the DMC (Datamall Coin) is utilized as a means of payment.

DMC is a Utility Token

As governments introduce regulations on cryptocurrency, there is concern within the industry that crypto assets will be subject to traditional securities laws and compliance requirements. Crypto assets can be categorized as utility tokens or security tokens, with utility tokens providing access to specific functions or services, and security tokens representing financial assets with investment attributes.

Security tokens are subject to securities regulations and require compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, while utility tokens face less stringent regulations.

The Howey Test is used by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to determine if an investment is a security. In 2022, DMC underwent the Howey Test and was determined not to meet the criteria of an investment with an expectation of profits derived from the efforts of others. This establishes DMC as a utility token, where holders use it to promote the ecosystem and access its functions.

DMC is a Governance Token

DMC operates as a governance token on the decentralized storage trading platform. It performs various functions such as screening premium storage service providers, protecting against malicious attacks, and resolving disputes.

The Proof of Storage Service (PoSS) consensus algorithm is used to select premium storage service providers based on staked DMC, giving them voting rights and a larger role in decision-making. This promotes ecological democracy and progress.

PoSS also acts as a protection mechanism by requiring users to stake a significant amount of DMC to have influence within the system. If any malicious actors abuse their power or damage the ecosystem, their staked DMC is penalized and they suffer consequences.

In terms of conflict resolution, storage service providers stake DMC to prove their storage capabilities. If consumers have concerns about the service, they can issue a storage challenge. If the service is not delivered, the provider’s staked DMC is deducted as a penalty and compensated to consumers and the system.

DMC Issuance Mechanism

In addition to its functionality, the allocation and issuance mechanisms are key factors in defining the nature of DMC.

DMC is not subject to the same regulations and restrictions as traditional securities when it comes to its issuance. Instead, it follows specific rules and constraints that aim to boost the development and operation of the ecosystem.

DMC Allocation Mechanism

As a utility token, DMC’s allocation focuses on encouraging user participation and usage to promote ecosystem growth. This can be achieved by rewarding users for their involvement in the ecosystem, providing storage services, or supporting ecosystem construction. The allocation mechanism is designed to incentivize users to actively contribute and help drive the widespread adoption of decentralized storage.

DMC Compliance Mechanism

Although DMC is not classified as a security token, it is committed to complying with security measures to protect user rights and the security of their assets. DMC has a compliance mechanism in place that adheres to local legal and regulatory requirements for its issuance and operation. Compliance reviews are conducted with the assistance of local legal teams to ensure adherence to relevant regulations.

DMC Security Mechanism

To safeguard user assets and the ecosystem, DMC implements robust security measures. This includes the use of advanced encryption technology to protect users’ private keys and transaction data, the establishment of multiple authentication mechanisms to prevent unauthorized access, and regular security audits and vulnerability remediation to ensure system security and stability.

DMC Risk Management Mechanism

Furthermore, an effective risk management mechanism is essential. This involves identifying and assessing potential risks and taking appropriate measures to reduce their occurrence and impact. Close collaboration with security experts and risk management teams allows for the assessment and monitoring of risks, as well as prompt responses to potential risk events.

Future of DMC

As decentralized storage technology continues to evolve and gain wider adoption, DMC is poised to play an increasingly significant role in the decentralized data storage service and marketplace worldwide. The future of DMC holds great potential in leveraging artificial intelligence to enable private, secure, and customizable data storage solutions across diverse industries. This innovation is set to bring about new opportunities for users and drive advancements in the digital asset domain as a whole.
