According to monitoring by Beating, game engine giant Unity has announced the official public beta of its AI toolkit, Unity AI. This toolkit requires Unity version 6.0 or higher and not only includes a built-in exclusive Agent but also connects third-party large models to the Unity engine through the newly added AI Gateway and official MCP Server. In this public beta, Unity offers a dual choice of proprietary tools and open access. On one hand, the built-in Agent has been trained on over 20 years of Unity best practices, supporting direct scene understanding and operations within the editor; on the other hand, developers can connect to their subscribed third-party Agents via the AI Gateway, with such calls not consuming official credits. Additionally, the newly released official MCP Server allows developers to bridge and control Unity from external IDEs, with the official emphasizing its execution performance surpassing existing open-source alternatives. In terms of pricing, official permissions are directly tilted towards paying major clients. Users of paid versions like Unity Pro, Enterprise, and Industry can use it without additional fees; personal version users receive a 14-day trial (limited to 1000 credits), after which a subscription of $10 per month is required (including 1000 credits/month). Regarding data privacy, the official promises that user project data will not be used for model training by default, and AI-generated assets will embed exclusive traceability tags.
