China's Securities Transaction Stamp Duty Reaches 126.2 Billion Yuan from January to May, Up 88.8% Year-on-Year

On June 22, the Ministry of Finance announced the fiscal revenue and expenditure situation for January to May 2026. From January to May, the national general public budget revenue was 1,004.65 billion yuan, an increase of 4% year-on-year. Among this, national tax revenue was 826.17 billion yuan, up 4.4% year-on-year; non-tax revenue was 178.48 billion yuan, up 2.2% year-on-year. The stamp duty totaled 242.6 billion yuan, an increase of 35.8%. Specifically, the stamp duty from securities transactions amounted to 126.2 billion yuan, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 88.8%.
