Does the Metaverse require large-scale infrastructure?

Cointime Official

The Metaverse is an open new world where avatars of individuals can work, live, and play together with avatars of their family, friends, and colleagues. In every scene of the Metaverse, whether it's socializing, attending meetings, traveling, shopping, gaming, or partying, the avatars, hats, beers, chairs, flowers you give to friends, and decorations in your penthouse apartment are all computer-rendered 3D graphics that should be in the form of NFTs that you can own. Blockchain-native 3D visualization is the foundation of all these immersive experiences.

iPollo is a super-scale infrastructure service for the Metaverse. Unlike other projects that provide small-scale infrastructure services, iPollo aims to provide services similar to game scenarios where 10 million people attend a concert. iPollo adopts multiple technological approaches and targets all users, allowing anyone with a smartphone to access the Metaverse, unlike many VR glasses that have limitations.

What is iPollo?

iPollo is the world's first blockchain-native 3D Metaverse infrastructure and ecosystem enabler, committed to achieving open social and immersive experiences in the 3D Metaverse, enabling tens of thousands of real users to interact in real-time and at low cost in the same scene, creating a whole new world for users. iPollo possesses real-time rendering and AIGC capabilities, aiming to achieve open social and immersive experiences in the 3D Metaverse, creating a new lifestyle for Web 3.0. iPollo provides massive computing power for 3D rendering and basic tool services for creators in the 3D world, especially asset trading services based on 3D NFTs. It is worth mentioning that iPollo's unique bidirectional incentive model provides rewards for both rendering device providers and Metaverse users.

On one hand, iPollo gathers global rendering computing power through its self-developed pomc consensus to provide ubiquitous real-time rendering services for the development of the Metaverse, enabling low-cost implementation and operation of online games with thousands of interactions or virtual concerts with tens of thousands of people on the same screen.

On the other hand, iPollo is committed to enabling true creative freedom for the builders of the Metaverse, providing comprehensive support from tool-side to service-side for developers and ecosystem partners, including on-chain services, AIGC creation tools in the middle layer, and 3D native asset standards in the upper layer.

iPollo is compatible with Ethereum's EVM, and the entire public chain adopts Ethereum. Therefore, it considers itself not a financial accounting public chain but an application public union. The core of iPollo is computing power, not the logic of supporting dApps, blocks, and block rewards like a financial public chain. Instead, iPollo firmly believes that the Metaverse is the next-generation direction of the Internet and will continue to strive to build a truly creative and visualized Metaverse.

iPollo enables the creation of assets at the speed of light.

iPollo believes that everything in the Metaverse is an NFTable, meaning that everything generated in iPollo can be an NFTable. The NFTs generated in iPollo are blockchain-native and can interoperate with NFTs from other public chains. They can be used in various Metaverse environments built on iPollo and also support interaction between different Metaverses.

Massive concurrent online transactions.

In iPollo, players no longer need to be allocated to isolated spaces, forming isolated scene islands, but can be infinitely connected in real-time in this Metaverse.

iPollo utilizes Web3D and cloud rendering technology to offload computational tasks from the client to the cloud. The interaction and rendering orchestration between the cloud and the client make iPollo an agile platform for millions of concurrent players. Players can roam the Metaverse simply through a web browser and experience a virtual environment.

Efficient real-time rendering.

iPollo will adopt innovative consensus mechanisms to aggregate global computing power and combine new rendering technologies to achieve lower-cost and lower-latency real-time rendering.

The low latency experienced by players in iPollo is due to various technological innovations in the rendering process and network level. Additionally, iPollo can coordinate the computing power of edge nodes in close proximity, thereby reducing transmission latency.

Targeted Users:

Asset creators: These users focus on creating assets within the Metaverse.

Interactive designers: They go beyond asset creation and also engage in interactive experiences within the Metaverse.

Developers with operational capabilities: These developers can build dApps on iPollo with low latency and low cost. They can create interactive games with thousands of players or virtual concerts with millions of attendees. iPollo supports developers in various aspects, including AIGC tools, developer tools, bridging tools, and blockchain-native 3D NFTs.

Computing power providers (miners): These users can contribute their idle GPU servers or GPU gaming machines to the iPollo network to provide rendering power for the entire Metaverse and receive corresponding rewards. iPollo's public chain adopts the innovative Proof of Meta Computing (PoMC) consensus. Miners donate their GPUs, storage, and bandwidth to provide rendering capabilities and earn rewards.

Creation Center:

iPollo has a Creation Center, a web-based tool where material designers, component designers, and space operators can use a toolbox. Users can access the Creation Center directly from their smartphones. Among the four layers and 17-18 components provided by iPollo, the Creation Center is the most commonly used tool.

Creation Center should be built on top of iPollo as one of the Metaverses. The infrastructure will differ, and one key aspect is the interoperability of assets. For example, if there's a flying disc in Scene A, its trajectory, whether based on gravity or parabolic motion, should be maintained when it moves to another Metaverse. There is no need to recreate it in a different Metaverse; users can simply buy and copy it. This type of scene will attract NFT or 3D NFT-centric projects to participate from an artistic and spatial design perspective. Therefore, its Web3 properties are very clear.

iPollo as an Application Public Chain, not a Financial Public Chain:

As an application public chain, iPollo places significant emphasis on rendering itself, and tasks can even be paid in fiat currency. iPollo is currently finalizing pricing, and institutions can pay the corresponding fees. Compared to other products, iPollo's storage costs are only about 1/70-1/80, resulting in lower fees. Another viewpoint is that iPollo aligns with the current domestic support for the Metaverse as an industry direction. Many governments and companies are willing to participate in projects, and while they may not necessarily use NFTs or USDT for payment, the logic remains the same. They will pay some cloud computing revenue to iPollo, which sets it apart from other supply chains.

Future Plans for iPollo:

iPollo has undergone preliminary and secondary testing and will soon launch the mainnet. The platform is already online and will be fully open for public use next month. iPollo believes that there are relatively few developers in the current Metaverse space. Therefore, they have established the Metaverse Academy, which is slowly being operated. They will use a more DAO-based approach to foster developer growth and encourage large-scale interaction and participation. Additionally, iPollo is working on various projects, including AIGC. They aim to provide convenient tools for builders to develop the Metaverse, supporting Web3. The Metaverse Academy aims to bring in more developers through DAO-style organization and interaction.

iPollo is also striving to make its developed toolbox more user-friendly and enable easier user-generated content (UGC). As we approach March and April, iPollo's major exhibition events for this year will begin. They are also actively promoting online versions of Metaverse events, allowing industry professionals who are interested but unable to attend large offline conferences to experience these novel conference rituals within the Metaverse.
