Building an NFT Explorer Dapp with NFTScan SDK Tool

Validated Project

An NFT explorer, a digital tool accessible via websites or apps, enables users to monitor non-fungible tokens (NFTs) ownership, historical records, and valuations. This explorer facilitates the search for specific NFTs, the examination of prevailing market prices, and the tracing of sales and ownership chronicles. Some NFT explorers boast supplementary features, such as watchlist creation, portfolio performance tracking, and NFT price comparison across various marketplaces.

A notable characteristic of NFT smart contracts is their exclusion of the artwork, imagery, or files themselves, containing only links or URIs to these elements and their metadata. Consequently, the responsibility for hosting this content does not fall upon the blockchain, as the tokens merely pinpoint off-chain locations for the files and data.

NFTScan’s NFT API provides swift access to comprehensive NFT information from multi-chain blockchains, such as EVM chains, Solana, Aptos, and Bitcoin networks.

Bypassing the need for manual scanning, indexing, and data storage, users can now issue a single request to obtain specific NFT information for both ERC-721 and ERC-1155 tokens. This encompasses information retrieval, such as identifying all NFTs associated with an address or obtaining metadata and attributes for a specific NFT token.

NFTScan SDK Tool

The NFTScan SDK libraries offer seamless deployment of smart contracts and invocation of methods on prevalent contract definitions via the NFTScan API, eliminating the need for developers to master Solidity, compile code, or import ABIs.

Employing the SDK, one can effortlessly execute calls on supported networks utilizing JavaScript.

Moreover, the SDK delineates standard read and write methods, with read methods accessible for trial through interactive REST APIs.

Use Guide

Step 1: Access NFTScan Analytics SDK Tool

  1. Visit NFTScan API Docs, select the SDK option in the menu bar

2. Click the “JS- SDK” to take you to the NFTScan SDK GitHub repository

Step 2: Set Up Your Development Environment

Before you start building your app, you need to set up your development environment. Ensure that you have the following tools installed on your computer:

1. Node.js: This is a JavaScript runtime built on Chrome’s V8 JavaScript engine, which allows you to run JavaScript on the server-side.

2. Git: This is a version control system that allows you to manage your code and collaborate with other developers.

3. A code editor: Choose a code editor that you are comfortable with. Some popular options include Visual Studio Code, Sublime Text, and Atom.

Step 3: Clone the SDK Repository

Once your development environment is set up, clone the SDK repository from GitHub. Open your terminal or command prompt and run the following command:

Step 4: Install Dependencies

Navigate to the cloned repository’s directory using the terminal or command prompt and run the following command to install the required dependencies:

Step 5: Create Your NFT Explorer App

Now that you have the NFTScan SDK and its dependencies installed, it’s time to create your NFT Explorer app. In this tutorial, we will create a simple command-line app that fetches NFT data from the NFTScan API. You can later expand this app to include a user interface or integrate it with your existing project.

1. Create a new file in the nftscan-sdk directory called nft-explorer.js.

2. Open the nft-explorer.js file in your code editor and start by importing the necessary modules:

3. Initialize the NFTScan instance and set up the API configuration:

Replace ‘your_nftscan_api_key’ with your own NFTScan API key. You can obtain an API key by signing up for a free account on the NFTScan website and navigating to the API settings page.

4. Create a function to fetch NFT data from the OpenSea API:

This function takes in the assetContractAddress and tokenId as arguments and fetches the corresponding NFT data from the NFTScan API. The function then logs the NFT’s name, description, image URL, and owner address to the console.

5. Create a function to fetch NFT data from the NFTScan API:

Replace the sampleAssetContractAddress and sampleTokenId with the appropriate values for the NFT you want to explore.

6. Save the nft-explorer.js file and run the app using the following command in your terminal or command prompt

If everything is set up correctly, you should see the NFT data for the specified asset contract address and token ID logged in the console.

Conclusion

Congratulations! You have successfully built a basic NFT Explorer app using the NFTScan SDK tool on GitHub. This app can be further expanded and customized to suit your needs. You can add more features, such as searching for NFTs by keywords, filtering by various attributes, or even integrating it with a web or mobile app to create a visually appealing user interface.

Happy coding!

  • Morgan Stanley: 2028 as a Key Observation Point for Global Memory Competition Landscape

On August 29, Morgan Stanley pointed out that the rise of Chinese memory manufacturers should not be viewed merely as a technological catch-up or low-cost substitution; what is truly noteworthy is that their production capacity may gradually become large enough to alter the supply structure of the global memory market. Changxin Technology and Yangtze Memory Technologies are currently entering the mainstream product market and gradually extending into high-profit markets such as HBM, high-end server DRAM, and enterprise SSDs. Morgan Stanley considers 2028 as an important observation point for the global memory competition landscape. From 2026 to 2027, demand for AI servers, capacity crowding of advanced wafers by HBM, import substitution, and the time required for customer certification may absorb most of the new supply from Chinese memory manufacturers. By 2028, as Chinese manufacturers expand production, the additional capacity from Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron, which had previously initiated expansions, will also be released. At that time, the supply variables in the global memory market will significantly increase. Morgan Stanley estimates that Changxin's DRAM monthly production capacity will rise from 180,000 wafers in 2025 to 300,000 in 2026, accounting for approximately 13% of global DRAM wafer capacity and about 11% of bit shipments; by 2028, it is expected to further increase to 500,000 wafers, and by 2031, it could reach 800,000 wafers. If the expansion proceeds smoothly, Changxin's global DRAM bit shipment market share could approach 15% by 2030, and it may even have the opportunity to surpass Micron in production capacity around 2028, becoming the third-largest DRAM supplier in the world.
