According to monitoring by Dongcha Beating, WeChat Pay is collaborating with the AI agent WorkBuddy to internally test an AI payment feature. This feature combines autonomous ordering by the AI agent with secure user confirmation by introducing a dedicated AI card in the WeChat balance. The internal testing mechanism is currently in the early testing phase within Tencent, marking the first implementation of dedicated funds and transaction confirmation for AI agents on a third-party payment platform. In the AI card interface within WeChat balance, users can transfer funds to and from the card. The spending limit of the AI card is entirely dependent on the balance loaded onto it. During the binding process, users must explicitly authorize and bind a specific AI agent. WeChat Pay indicates on the binding page that the AI card is a payment card exclusively for the AI agent, and even after activation and binding, user confirmation is still required before the AI agent can make payments. The specific transaction process is completed collaboratively by the AI agent and the user. For example, when purchasing Q coins, a test user can express their purchasing needs in the WorkBuddy chat window, and the AI agent will recommend and generate an order. When the order status shows 'in transaction' in the backend, the AI agent will invoke the AI payment tool to generate a confirmation link. After the user clicks the link, the WeChat payment confirmation page will appear on their mobile device, and the user must verify the amount and enter a password to complete the deduction.
