On June 22, Qatar and Pakistan issued a joint statement. The statement noted that the first round of high-level talks held under the framework of the US-Iran Memorandum of Understanding has concluded in Switzerland. Based on the memorandum, the parties agreed to establish a high-level committee to provide political oversight for the mediation efforts. Chief negotiators will report regularly to the high-level committee. The committee has reached a consensus on a timeline to achieve a final agreement within 60 days, laying the groundwork for the immediate initiation of further technical talks. Additionally, the parties agreed to establish a conflict resolution coordination group between the relevant parties and the Republic of Lebanon, with assistance from the mediators, to ensure the cessation of military operations in Lebanon according to the memorandum. Technical talks will continue for the remainder of the week at the Bürgenstock resort in Switzerland to address all issues. (Jinshi)
