On March 20, ByteDance announced it has reached a final agreement with Savvy Games Group, a subsidiary of Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF), to sell Moonton Technology for over $6 billion. Moonton Technology is the developer and publisher of the popular Southeast Asian MOBA mobile game Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), and was acquired by ByteDance in 2021. It is understood that ByteDance has made significant investments in the AI sector. With a decline in overall profits in the fourth quarter of '25, the sale of Moonton is seen as a signal of ByteDance's strategic focus on AI. (Jiemian)
