On January 14th, according to ajunews, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) of South Korea issued a joint statement with the United States and Japan on its official website, explaining North Korea's alleged involvement in cryptocurrency theft and emphasizing the importance of cooperation between public and private sectors. According to the three-party organization, North Korea stole about $660 million worth of cryptocurrency in 2024, including $308 million from DMM Bitcoin, $50 million from Upbit, $16.13 million from Rain Management, $235 million from WazirX, and $50 million from Radiant Capital.
