the metaverse technology company Futureverse announced on April 16, 2025 that it had acquired the digital collectibles platform Candy Digital, with the transaction amount undisclosed. This acquisition gave Futureverse access to Candy Digital's 4 million digital collectibles and 1.5 million user accounts, as well as partnerships with blue-chip brands such as Netflix, DC Comics, and MLB.

It is reported that Futureverse was founded at the end of 2022, and had completed a $54 million Series A financing round in 2023, with an estimated valuation of around $1 billion.
