Coinbase to open new office in North Carolina and hire more than 130 local employees

Coinbase announced it will establish a new office in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA, and plans to recruit more than 130 local employees within the next 6 months, with positions mainly focused on compliance and customer support departments. A company spokesperson stated that Charlotte was chosen because the city is emerging as a financial technology center, and its rapidly growing population and high-quality talent pool will support Coinbase's long-term development. It is worth noting that Coinbase still maintains a "remote first" work mode, with about 95% of employees able to choose to work from home or in a hybrid office. This expansion is in line with the hiring plan announced by Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong on March 7th. Due to the pro-crypto policies of the Trump administration, the company plans to add about 1000 new positions in the US this year, which would increase the total number of employees by 27% if completed. However, the spokesperson emphasized that the expansion in Charlotte is mainly based on local talent advantages, rather than political factors.
