Project Background

From the nine core team members on the official website, it's evident that most of the key members have over a decade of experience in game development, with previous affiliation to major Chinese gaming company - NetEase. This also explains why Skytopia has such intricate visual effects. The Founder and Co-founder also bring years of entrepreneurial experience from the blockchain and gaming sectors to their incredible team.

Gameplay

Skytopia is dedicated to creating a game metaverse that seamlessly integrates social, blockchain, and Web3 elements. From constructing the game's background to refining the actual gameplay, tremendous effort has been invested. In order to break away from the challenges seen in early blockchain game markets, the initial game releases primarily focus on accessibility and being user-friendly.

According to the official SkyTopia website, there are currently five games on the platform: Party Planet, Mysterious Village, Cyber Racing Star, Dream Land, and The City of Ruins. Party Planet has already been officially launched, with plans for the release of six more mini-games. We'll provide a detailed focus on these games in this section.

Candy Chaos

Players balance a plate on their heads and use directional keys to move around and catch falling candies. Each caught candy earns a point, while catching a bomb deducts three points.

This game is all about strategy and intense competition leading to different outcomes. From my experience, I believe this is the most challenging among the six games. After all, human behavior is the hardest to predict, and winning streaks can easily be broken.

Fugitive Finder

Certain cards will sequentially reveal images of fugitives' faces. Players need to remember the positions of different faces within a limited time. After the police officer reveals the fugitive's portrait, players must quickly locate and lift the fugitive card among 16 cards.

This game is a true test of mental acuity. Remember to use the X key to sprint and knock others away.

Mushroom Madness

Players need to jump onto nearby stumps and eat mushrooms to score points before the countdown ends. If two players jump onto the same stump, they will collide and not earn any points. There are three types of mushrooms, with prettier mushrooms granting more points.

Football Frenzy

In this game, players team up in pairs to kick the ball into the opponent's goal, with each goal counting as a point. Learning to use the X key for sprinting and stealing the ball from opponents is essential. Cooperation between teammates is key, and flexible positioning is important.

Word War

Players can press Z to choose letters and X to either collide with and disrupt opponents or dash to another letter's position. Each player has a different word displayed above their head. Matching a letter correctly earns a point, but be cautious as collision results in a longer stun duration. Avoid it carefully!

Arctic Assault

Players are randomly distributed on a slippery hexagonal ice surface. They move left and right using directional keys and the X key to push opponents a certain distance. It's worth mentioning that due to the icy surface, if players aren't careful, they might slip into the water. This game truly tests a player's timing and maneuvering skills.

Each player has three revival chances, and what players need to do is strive to survive until the end. Additionally, the ice surface will progressively shrink as time passes. The playable area becomes smaller, creating a heightened sense of tension. Will you play it safe and survive, or will you take a bold chance? It truly tests the player's decision-making skills!

All of the above games can be accessed in Freeplay mode, as well as Competitive Party mode, which is a PvP ranking mode. However, participation requires a Party Ticket (which can be purchased using 100 in-game currency DPM, currently obtainable through participating in Freeplay games and other methods).

In the Competitive Party mode, rankings are announced every Monday morning in the rank list. The top one hundred players can receive rewards in DPM and the main currency FPU.

Above Freeplay and Competitive Party modes, there's the Season mode. You can complete tasks to earn little stars and then exchange them for rewards in the rewards section. These rewards include DPM and party tickets, and you might even get custom skins.

Starting from August 8th, we also noticed that Party Planet has undergone significant updates for its in-game social features.

In order to enhance the social experience, new features such as a friend system and room system have been introduced, effectively boosting communication and interaction between players. Players can add friends using their account's numerical ID, engage in public channel chats or one-on-one private conversations with their friends. Additionally, the game has introduced a game room feature that supports up to 4 players. Players can create rooms in casual mode, invite friends to play together, chat in party rooms, and freely choose to start a party game!

According to the project team, Party Planet will also introduce new large-scale levels in September, with more exciting and fun gameplay to be unlocked. Stay tuned for the excitement!

NFT

The team has designed a total of 10,000 unique NFTs with an incredibly cute and vibrant art style. Players who own NFTs receive 2 airdropped Party tickets every day and also get exclusive in-game skins. Furthermore, future games will have enhanced token rewards for NFT holders.

Holders of SR NFTs can also unlock the Party Planet game season for free. They can accumulate points while collecting corresponding token/ticket rewards. By accumulating enough points, they can unlock a skin blind box before the end of the season. Currently, a Season Pass is priced at 500 $FPU in the in-game store.

The first round of NFT Free Mint was launched in 2022, and the second minting round has now concluded, with a total of 3,000 successfully minted. You can head to the "Go to Marketplace" section on the official website to purchase these on the CMP blockchain's secondary marketplace, Coinswap. Currently, the floor price for an NFT is around 10U.

Economic Model

In terms of the economic model, SkyTopia employs a dual-token + NFT model to create a more stable economic ecosystem.

FPU serves as Skytopia's governance token, which can be obtained through weekly ranking tournaments within the top 100 and airdrop events. Once the in-game store is launched, FPU can be used to purchase items from the store. The gaming token, known as DPM, can be earned through weekly rankings, seasonal tournaments, and gameplay battles. It can be exchanged for Party tickets and in-game items.

In Conclusion

As an experienced Web2 team, SkyTopia has demonstrated a clear lead in creating Web3 games compared to early blockchain games. Both the visual design and gameplay quality are exceptionally high. The time and effort invested in development and the past two years since launch showcase the team's dedication to creating engaging games. This illustrates that the team's intention is not merely to exploit users but to offer a variety of more enjoyable and accessible Web3 games.

Party Planet has officially launched on the Android client this week and is now available on the PlanckX game channel. Feel free to visit the PlanckX website at https://planckx.io/ for an online experience.

  • Federal Reserve's 'Echo Chamber': Non-Farm Report Indicates Reasons for Rate Cuts Have Largely Disappeared

On June 5, Nick Timiraos, often referred to as the 'echo chamber' of the Federal Reserve, pointed out that the acceleration of hiring activities this spring will provide more justification for Fed officials who are concerned about inflation and believe that current interest rates are too low to curb a new wave of price pressures. Some officials have recently suggested that the Fed should be prepared for interest rate hikes later this year, at least to reverse some of the three 25-basis-point cuts implemented in the second half of last year. These cuts were aimed at stabilizing the labor market, which now appears to be in much better condition than it was at that time. This employment report will not completely resolve the debate about how much the Fed should consider raising rates later this year, but it does further indicate that the reasons for rate cuts in the short term have largely disappeared. The more compelling reasons supporting rate hikes currently stem from the inflation outlook. Multiple shocks, including infrastructure development in artificial intelligence, tariffs, and energy, could keep inflation persistently above the Fed's 2% target, even if progress is made in restoring commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. If the Fed remains inactive during a period of rising inflation, the real interest rates adjusted for inflation will decline. Even if the labor market is not the main driving factor, this mechanism could become an important element in discussions about raising rates.
