according to Kyodo News, the Japanese government plans to use 900 billion yen (about 6.3 billion U.S. dollars) of national funds to implement an emergency rescue plan to alleviate the impact of U.S. tariffs. Kyodo News reported that in order to provide funding for a package plan including reducing utility costs and providing financial assistance to small businesses, the government plans to use budget reserves (to be decided as early as Tuesday) and existing budgets.
