Ethereum's "Glamsterdam" upgrade aims to launch in 2026 and could reduce MEV abuse.

after Ethereum developers recently successfully carried out the Fusaka upgrade and reduced node costs, they have started to fully plan the "Glamsterdam" upgrade, aiming to launch it in 2026. The name "Glamsterdam" is derived from the combination of two simultaneous core layer upgrades in Ethereum. The execution layer (where transaction rules and smart contracts reside) will undergo the Amsterdam upgrade, while the consensus layer (which coordinates validators and finalizes blocks) will undergo the Gloas upgrade. The core of this upgrade is proposer-builder separation (ePBS) and block-level access control lists, which can reduce manipulation and abuse opportunities related to maximum extractable value (MEV).
