Coatue founder: Bitcoin will become a more core asset in the portfolio

Philippe Laffont, founder of hedge fund giant Coatue Management, said at the New York Coinbase cryptocurrency summit that although investors may be deterred by the early volatility of Bitcoin, the volatility of Bitcoin has decreased over time, which means that the cost of investing in Bitcoin is decreasing, and institutional investors accepting Bitcoin is also a sign of maturity in cryptocurrency.

In addition, the number of Bitcoin wallets holding cryptocurrencies for at least one month and selling them all has decreased significantly, indicating that investors are holding cryptocurrencies for the long term rather than trading. Of course, Bitcoin still accounts for a very small proportion of global net assets at this stage (approximately $2 trillion out of $500 trillion), and if Bitcoin is seen as a valuable asset by more people, it must become a more core asset in investment portfolios. For investors who value Bitcoin, Philippe Laffont recommends not allowing Bitcoin to occupy too large a proportion in the investment portfolio, to the point of becoming the driving factor of the portfolio.
