Starknet announced on X platform that Cairo V2.3.0 has transitioned from a candidate release version to an official release version. The new version includes performance improvements, bug fixes, and new inline macros to help handle component dependencies. Earlier, Starknet announced that its programming language Cairo V2.3.0 introduced components, a way for Cairo to modularize contract modules through additional functionality, storage, and events.

October 20th, the Starknet ecosystem DeFi protocol zkLend officially launched on the mainnet, with new features including inputting multiple calls, supporting more assets (including wstETH), and improving contract security. The contract has been audited by Nethermind Security. As previously reported, zkLend completed a $5 million seed round of financing, led by Delphi Digital, with participation from Alameda Research, Three Arrows Capital, Starkware, MetaCartel DAO, Amber Group, and Genesis Block Ventures.

According to a developer report by Electric Capital, Ethereum layer-2 scaling solutions Starknet and zkSync have seen an increase in their total monthly active developer counts over the past year, while Ethereum, Polygon, and Solana have seen a decrease. Starknet's "Quantum Leap" went live in July and can potentially increase Ethereum's transactions per second (TPS) from 13-15 to 37 TPS consistently and up to 90 TPS in some cases.

According to official sources, Nethermind, a research and engineering company for Ethereum, has received support from the Starknet Foundation Grant for its Nethermind Internship Program. The program will provide opportunities for the next generation of STARK and Cairo developers and researchers to learn. Interns can participate in STARK-driven infrastructure contributions, such as Cairo development, full-node client implementation, block explorers and analysis platforms, Go VM open-source implementation, and Starkent Remix plugins.

According to L2beat data, the total value locked (TVL) of Ethereum Layer 2 network Mantle Network has surpassed Starknet, with a 20% decrease in Starknet's TVL in the past 24 hours. Currently, Mantle Network's TVL has reached $126 million. Historical data shows that Mantle Network's TVL reached a record high of $129 million on October 10, 2023.

Dune data shows that the total value locked (TVL) of Starknet's bridging has reached 718,585 ETH, with a total of 1,117,627 users on the bridging chain. In addition, the current TVL of Arbitrum's bridging chain is 2,965,845 ETH, Optimism is 626,001 ETH, zkSync is 2,051,997 ETH, and Base is 222,298 ETH.

According to the latest data from Dune Analytics, the Ethereum layer 2 scaling solution StarkNet has bridged a TVL of over 700,000 ETH. As of writing this article, it has reached 706,064 ETH, which is approximately equivalent to $1.09 billion USD based on current prices. Currently, the bridged user count on the StarkNet layer 2 network is approximately 1.108 million.

StarkNet is a Layer2 solution that utilizes zkSTARKs to scale Ethereum. It alleviates Ethereum’s network congestion by increasing the throughput and reducing the transaction fee.

According to TechFlow news, the first phase of the ZKX token airdrop has started, focusing on early contributors. The token will become a governance token with a maximum supply of 100 million. The first phase will distribute 4% of the total supply, and the second airdrop will distribute around 11%.

According to Dune data, the TVL bridged by Starknet has exceeded 600,629 ETH, with a total of 1,023,315 users on the chain. In addition, Arbitrum has a bridged TVL of 2,909,945 ETH, Optimism has a bridged TVL of 613,307 ETH, zkSync has a bridged TVL of 1,826,582 ETH, and Base has a bridged TVL of 197,144 ETH.
