ApeCoin DAO has approved a new community proposal to launch an Accelerator that will support the incubation of projects using apecoin tokens to enhance the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFT collection and other ApeCoin projects. The "Ape Accelerator" will involve the ApeCoin community as initiators, voters, and participants.

The NFT market experienced a significant growth in Q1 2023, with sales volumes of almost 11.5 million NFTs and a volume of $4.54 billion. This growth can be attributed to the launch of Blur, a marketplace for professional traders, which has attracted the involvement of the crypto community.

May 14(Cointime) - Yat Siu, co-founder of Animoca Brands, said on Twitter that he has purchased four Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFTs at a price of 186.2232 ETH (approximately $335,000), namely BAYC #3318 and BAYC #390, BAYC #633 and BAYC #3939.

From what started two years ago with boring ape JPEGs, Yuga Labs became an industry behemoth with 16 NFT collections in its portfolio. NFT sales declined by 5.76% in April, with Ethereum dominating the market, according to the latest sales statistics. Yuga Labs, creator of the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFT collection, has won a pre-trial summary judgment in its trademark infringement case against Ryder Ripps and Jeremy Cahen. The RR/BAYC NFT collection contained identical copies of Bored Apes and used marketing material similar to that of BAYC. The court found that the duo utilized BAYC trademarks without Yuga Labs' consent, potentially causing confusion amongst buyers. The court ruled that Yuga Labs was entitled to an injunction and damages, which will be determined during a trial. Yuga Labs had initially asked for $200,000 in statutory damages, but this claim was dismissed. The BAYC creators described the judgment as a win for the entire Web3 industry.
