According to chain analyst Yu Jin's monitoring, a whale who withdrew 52,000 ETH (valued at $5.73 million at the time) from Kraken at an average price of $110 from December 2018 to January 2019, transferred 12,087 ETH (now valued at $20.61 million) in two transactions to Binance 11 hours ago after being dormant for two years. As of now, all of the whale's 52,000 ETH has been transferred to CEX. In June 2019, the whale transferred 27,198 ETH to Bitstamp at an average price of $257.

According to Whale Alert monitoring, on August 17th, 892 BTC (worth $25,579,886) was transferred from Kraken to an unknown wallet address.

34.28 Million SAND Distributed to 11 Addresses Within 2 Hours as Part of Token Unlocking

According to Spot On Chain monitoring, 34.28 million SAND tokens (worth $13.5 million) were distributed to 11 addresses within 2 hours as part of the token unlocking process. 5.77 million SAND tokens (worth $2.81 million) were deposited into Binance and Kraken through 4 addresses, while 1.38 million SAND tokens were sold on DEX at an average price of $0.378 per token for a total of 522,000 USDC.

On August 14th, according to Lookonchain monitoring, the deployer of Bald has bridged back 7,000 ETH ($12.9 million) from the Base network to Ethereum, and deposited 2,100 ETH ($3.87 million) into Kraken. Currently, there are 2,000 ETH ($3.7 million) being bridged and 2,237 ETH ($4.13 million) on the Base network.

Kraken Listing Boosts Native Currency for Two Reddit Communities

Kraken, a cryptocurrency exchange, has listed the native currencies of two Reddit communities, MOON and BRICK, causing a surge in their value. The r/Cryptocurrency Moons increased by 40% to $0.40, while r/FortNiteBR Bricks rose by 76% to $0.04. Both currencies are awarded to users based on their engagement within each online community. Kraken also unveiled perpetual futures for the tokens, allowing people to speculate on future price movements.

Kraken co-founder questions viability of FTX 2.0's revival plans

Jesse Powell, co-founder of Kraken, has expressed doubts about the viability of FTX 2.0's plans to revive the now-bankrupt crypto exchange. Powell believes that FTX 2.0 would be worse than starting from scratch due to the lack of team, technology, licenses, and banking, as well as a tarnished brand. He suggests that the trustee should auction off the domain and trademark to the highest bidder, as anything beyond that would be a fee extraction attack on delusional creditors. FTX 2.0 Coalition, an alliance of FTX users hoping for a reboot, criticized Powell's comments, stating that the exchange's 1.8 million creditor-customers turned owners are hugely valuable for bootstrapping.
