John Deaton seeks to serve as friend of the court on behalf of Coinbase clients in US SEC-Coinbase lawsuit

In a document filed with the Southern District of New York Federal Court on April 19th, cryptocurrency lawyer John Deaton sought to represent 4,701 Coinbase customers as a friend of the court lawyer in the legal dispute between the US SEC and Coinbase. In an interview with Fox Business journalist Eleanor Terrett on April 18th, Deaton stated that he supports Coinbase customers' motivation to protect ordinary people who want to "accumulate a little wealth" in life, and said "this has nothing to do with the cryptocurrency industry, it's about freedom."

Cryptocurrency lawyer John Deaton has made serious accusations against Elizabeth Warren, a member of the US Banking Committee, accusing her of improper behavior in her supervisory role at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Deaton claims that Warren conspired with SEC Chairman Gary Gensler and exceeded her duties. He alleges that Warren provided Gensler with pre-arranged questions and answers before the congressional hearing, which constituted "fraudulent and coached testimony" and undermined the essence of congressional oversight.
