CSOP Bitcoin Futures ETF Assets Under Management Grow to $119 Million

Due to the rising prices of virtual assets such as Bitcoin, the management of virtual asset futures ETFs in Hong Kong has also skyrocketed. Taking the Southern Dongying Bitcoin Futures ETF as an example, as of April 9th, its management assets have grown from $53.89 million to $119 million. Currently, there are three virtual currency ETFs listed in Hong Kong, all of which are virtual asset futures ETFs, mainly issued by Southern Dongying and Samsung Asset Management (Hong Kong). All three products participate in the trading of Bitcoin and Ethereum futures listed on the CME using margin. The Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission is reportedly set to announce the first list of Bitcoin spot ETFs in Hong Kong on April 15th.

The asset management scale of Hong Kong’s largest Bitcoin futures ETF has increased fivefold since October last year

The largest Bitcoin futures ETF in Hong Kong has increased its asset management scale fivefold in the past five months, reaching over $100 million, due to local investors chasing the rise of the world's most well-known cryptocurrency. Hong Kong approved the first three cryptocurrency futures ETFs by the end of 2022. CSOP Asset Management, which manages the CSOP Bitcoin Futures ETF (3066.HK), stated that demand increased significantly in February.
