Scam Sniffer on X platform stated that someone lost 287 stETH (642,000 USD) due to a phishing scam about 20 minutes ago.

Scam Sniffer warned on social media to be cautious of phishing scams on Twitter, as scammers are using ads to target MetaMask users. After each ad account is banned, they continuously switch to new ad accounts. Some of them have already been suspended, so please report them if you see them. Nest Wallet CEO and co-founder Bill Lou encountered a phishing attack while attempting to claim what he believed to be a genuine LFG airdrop, resulting in a loss of 52 stETH (approximately $125,000 USD). Lou stated that he clicked on a link in an article at the top of a Google search, which led to a fraudulent website. "I saw an airdrop guide article and clicked on a link to sign a message, without even questioning it."

The founder of SlowMist, Yu Xian, posted on social media that Angel Drainer used the offline authorization signature method of Permit to steal aOptWETH worth $1.3 million from a certain address. Earlier reports said that about 14 hours ago, an address lost 553 aOptWETH (worth $1.3 million) due to phishing scams on the network. The victim signed a malicious ERC20 Permit message.

Scam Sniffer stated on social media that a phishing campaign targeting cryptocurrency wallets in 2023 resulted in the theft of nearly $300 million and affected over 324,000 victims.

OKLink's 2023 Security Incident Report shows that there were more than 520 publicly reported security incidents in the blockchain ecosystem in 2023, resulting in losses of over 1.7 billion USD, a decrease of about 54% from 2022's 3.728 billion USD. This decrease is due to the improvement of the global regulatory system and breakthroughs in on-chain security technology. For example, in September, Ethereum founder Vitalik's Twitter account was hacked, resulting in the theft of over 690,000 USD in assets.

According to Scam Sniffer monitoring, a wallet hacker is related to phishing activities on Google search and X advertising, and has stolen about 58 million US dollars from more than 63,000 victims in 9 months.

Ledger officials have warned about ongoing phishing and fraud. Ledger only has two genuine social media accounts, @ledger and @ledger_support. The rest are fake accounts, and anyone asking for your 24-word recovery phrase is a criminal.
