Twitter users will be able to access stocks, cryptocurrencies and other financial assets through a partnership with eToro, a social trading company.

Gemini has filed a pre-registration undertaking to the Ontario Securities Commission in Canada to register as a restricted dealer, allowing it to continue serving retail users in the country. Recent Canadian securities regulations require crypto firms to segregate Canadian customer funds from foreign user funds and withhold certain services from residents of Canada. Gemini's decision to register in Canada means it will continue to serve retail users in the country, including acting as a sub-custodian to Canadian cryptocurrency exchange-traded funds. Other exchanges, such as Coinbase, Kraken, and Crypto.com, also intend to continue operating in Canada by filing the same pre-registration undertaking.

The New York-based crypto platform, Paxos, recently announced that it would stop offering services to customers based out of Canada. This comes after a number of Canadian users reported receiving an email from the firm stating that it would be winding down services from early next month.

On April 14th at 17:00 UTC, dYdX will transition all existing Canadian users to close-only mode.

Crypto companies hired several high-level executives in March, more than the previous month, as the market rebounded. Big names, including Coinbase, Immutable and Anchorage Digital Bank, each added leadership roles to their teams.

Canada's privacy commissioner and several other countries, including Germany and France, have expressed concerns over ChatGPT, with Italy recently banning the chatbot altogether following a bug that exposed users' payment information and chat history.

Three Canadian cryptocurrency companies, CoinSmart, Coinsquare, and WonderFi-owned Bitbuy and Coinberry, announced a merger to create Canada's largest crypto asset trading platform with over 1.65 million registered users. The merged company will have transacted over $17 billion since 2017 and have over $600 million in assets under custody. The three companies are expected to be consolidated under Coinsquare, which became the first Canadian platform registered with the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization last October. The merger confirms separate plans the three companies have been working on in recent months, and the move will create a "safe, secure, scalable, and regulated trading platform that can compete with the unregulated global exchanges still operating in Canada," said Coinsquare CEO Martin Piszel.

Canada’s government is reportedly considering issuing its own digital tender in response to the growing popularity of Cryptocurrencies, but the fate of Cryptocurrency is uncertain.

To spearhead their efforts in Canada, they have appointed Lucas Matheson as the Country Director, based in Ottawa.
