About this Event

At the beginning of 2022, all crypto assets were valued at an aggregate of $1.6 trillion. The total value locked (TVL) in DeFi had increased sharply from $19 billion at the beginning of 2021 to $242 billion on January 1, 2022. Numerous new smart contract-compatible blockchain projects had appeared and were emerging alongside Bitcoin and Ethereum, some of which ended up dropping in value by over 90%. Additionally, we noticed an increased demand for crypto assets from institutional investors. Startups offering solutions in blockchain, DeFi, or crypto assets were raising millions of dollars in venture capital.

At the end of 2022, we are facing a freezing crypto winter. Once so promising projects revealed glaring weaknesses and their demise triggered a veritable earthquake. Within a very short time, the prices of almost all crypto assets plummeted. As of the end of November, Bitcoin is now at a level of around $16,500 and Ethereum is at a level of around $1,200. And the total value locked (TVL) has decreased by more than $200 billion to approximately $41.5 billion.

NFTs and the Metaverse celebrated a different hype. Sales of digital artworks such as Crypto Punks or Bored Apes achieved record sums in cryptocurrencies. The first concerts took place in the Metaverse. Well-known sports and luxury labels are looking to join the Metaverse and draw attention to branded wearables. The fractionalization of art, luxury items, or classic cars is also entering the market. This way, even ordinary people can own a small part of a coveted item.

Let's venture a look ahead to the year 2023. Where do we see potential, and where are opportunities in Web3? And why should you start now in the world of Web3?

Specifically, in the upcoming event we would like to elaborate on the following questions:

  • Why invest in blockchain, Bitcoin, Ethereum, and the Metaverse?
  • What are the dos and don’ts when investing?
  • Will the growth of the Metaverse ecosystem continue, slow, or accelerate in 2023?
  • Who are the current users of the Metaverse and who are the future ones?
  • What are the biggest obstacles to further institutional/retail adoption?
  • What are the hottest web3 topics that blockchain startups are most focused on?

During the online panel, you will also have the opportunity to ask questions directly to the speakers.
