Fidelity Vice President: Pension plans are beginning to explore investment opportunities in the crypto space

Manuel Nordeste, Vice President of Fidelity Digital Assets, stated that fixed income plans and other pension funds have "just started discussing" cryptocurrency assets with investment committees. Smaller but mature investors such as family offices and high net worth individuals are more likely to purchase cryptocurrency. When Fidelity Digital Assets started (in 2018), it saw "family offices, small professional asset management companies, and hedge funds, followed by large blue-chip stock hedge funds," and we began talking to larger, true institutional investors, and we are gaining some of these clients, as well as enterprises.

Fidelity FBTC total inflows exceed $4 billion

BitMEX data shows that Fidelity's Wise Origin Bitcoin (FBTC) exchange-traded fund (ETF) saw a significant increase in funds this week, with a total inflow of $4 billion. BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin ETF (IBIT) also saw impressive net inflows of $5.7 billion. In contrast, GBTC experienced more outflows, but these were suppressed. According to Glassnode, since the launch of the Bitcoin ETF on January 11, GBTC's total Bitcoin holdings have decreased by 33%, with total outflows reaching $7.4 billion. As of now, the total net inflow for all Bitcoin ETFs is $5.3 billion, which is equivalent to 110,000 Bitcoins.

1,170 BTC worth $46.89 million were transferred from 326 addresses including Coinbase to Fidelity's FBTC Bitcoin ETF address half an hour ago, as monitored by on-chain analyst @ai_9684xtpa. Currently, Fidelity holds a total of 39,300 BTC worth $1.58 billion.

Fidelity launches six new ETFs and reduces fees on nearly a third of its total lineup

Fidelity Investments has launched six new exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and reduced management fees on almost a third of its total ETF lineup. This move is expected to kick off another strong week for ETF debuts, with at least a dozen new products expected to be launched. Among them, Ark Invest and 21Shares AG will roll out a group of five actively-managed ETFs tied to bitcoin and ethereum futures as well as blockchain technology on Tuesday and Wednesday. Fidelity's ETF conversions include funds focused on large-cap growth, value and core portfolios, as well as mid-cap small-cap, and international stocks, offering fees of 18 basis points to 28 basis points.

Fidelity files updated version of its spot Bitcoin ETF filing

According to a public regulatory document, Fidelity has submitted an updated version of its Bitcoin ETF S-1 filing to the SEC. Bloomberg ETF analyst James Seyffart commented that there is more evidence that potential Bitcoin ETF issuers are communicating with the SEC about the changes/revisions required for approval, which is a positive sign, and more issuers may submit updated versions in the coming weeks and months.

Fidelity Digital Assets becomes first corporate client of EY blockchain tools

Fidelity Digital Assets has become the first enterprise client of EY's blockchain tool Reconcile, which can be accessed through EY's SaaS platform. Fidelity will use a web-based analytics dashboard to query on-chain data for risk management. A statement said that the fourth-generation tool, EY Blockchain Analyzer Reconciler, is designed to help organizations independently obtain and query on-chain data to enhance their internal risk management programs. It is reported that EY currently supports Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, Ethereum, Ethereum Classic, and Dogecoin blockchains. It is also committed to expanding support for other blockchain data based on customer needs, as well as address derivation, block explorer, and staking, among other functions.
