a network pastor in Denver, Colorado, and his wife have been sued for a cryptocurrency scam that raised over $3 million from religious investors. Network pastor Eli Regalado and his wife Kaitlyn face 40 charges stemming from what Denver-area prosecutor John Walsh called a "multi-million dollar cryptocurrency scam."
It is alleged that the Regalado couple raised nearly $3.4 million between January 2022 and July 2023 by encouraging members of their religious network to purchase INDXcoin (tokens they created and sold through the Kingdom Wealth Exchange platform). They reportedly spent at least $1.3 million on personal expenses, including a home renovation allegedly instructed by "God," with only a small portion of the proceeds used for business investments. According to the lawsuit, at least 300 people invested in the token, which authorities deemed "worthless," resulting in all investors losing their money.
